Depth-Oriented Psychotherapy for Underserved Communities Duration: 8 Weeks Course Description: This course explores how depth-oriented and humanistic psychotherapies can serve underserved and marginalized communities. Through readings that center trauma, culture, and power, participants will examine the ethical, theoretical, and practical dimensions of depth psychotherapy across diverse identities and systemic inequities. Emphasis will be placed on existential and psychoanalytic approaches that empower clients in contexts of trauma, oppression, and cultural complexity. Learning Objectives By the end of this course, participants will be able to: 1. Integrate humanistic, existential, and psychoanalytic frameworks in culturally informed, trauma-sensitive care. 2. Understand systemic and interpersonal factors that shape psychological suffering in underserved communities. 3. Practice ethically attuned, presence-based work that includes sensitivity to microaggressions, identity, and power. 4. Analyze trauma through a meaning-based, relational lens. 5. Develop applied case analyses and culturally grounded clinical interventions.
